Israeli AI firm Opti bags $20m seed round
Opti has launched an AI-powered identity and access management (IAM) platform and announced a US$20 million seed round.
The platform uses specialized AI models to improve enterprise identity workflows.
Opti’s founders previously built Indegy, acquired by Tenable in 2019.
The team interviewed over 100 security leaders to identify key challenges such as overprivileged access and inefficient recertification processes.
The seed round is backed by YL Ventures, Mayfield Fund, Hetz Ventures, Squared Circle, Maple Capital, and LocalGlobe.
The company said it will continue developing new features focused on least-privilege principles and adaptive automation.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Opti’s GA and integrations remain unclear
- Opti announced a $20M seed round and pitched an AI platform, yet it has not said if the product is generally available or still in private beta (limited early access), which clouds market readiness 12.
- Sources say the company works across finance plus retail, healthcare, and technology 12. No public reference customers appear, which is unusual for a platform claiming to transform identity operations at scale.
- The company has not specified integrations with Okta or Microsoft Entra ID (Microsoft’s enterprise directory service) 3. Nor has it listed AWS Identity and Access Management (AWS IAM) or CyberArk (a privileged-access security vendor), despite claims of directory and workflow links 3.
- Opti stresses domain-trained Large Language Models (LLMs) and policy-aware automation 23. Without deployment detail or named customers, buyers face uncertainty on setup effort and time to value.
Identity and access management (IAM) modernization opens services demand for systems integrators
- Recent procurement moves signal IAM upgrades. Florida’s Department of Commerce seeks Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) 45, while British Columbia requests automated identity governance by November 2025 6.
- These RFPs ask for automated least-privilege enforcement, AI-powered access recommendations, and cloud integrations 56. The scope aligns with Opti’s pitch but still needs implementation.
- Systems integrators can deliver discovery, architecture, and integration for IAM programs. Managed security service providers (MSSPs) and value-added resellers (VARs) can support buyers that pick Opti or a rival.
- Only 50% of organizations rate their IAM tools as effective 1. That gap drives demand for technology refresh plus services to design least-privilege frameworks and automate recertification workflows.
