iPhone 17 to feature own Wi-Fi, bluetooth chips next year

Apple plans to introduce its own Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chips in the iPhone 17, expected to launch in late next year.

This initiative, reported by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, signifies a shift from Apple’s dependence on third-party components for these functions.

The iPhone SE 4, slated for spring 2025, is expected to include Apple’s 5G modem. However, it will continue using Broadcom’s Wi-Fi chip, according to 9to5Mac.

The iPhone 17 will be the first to feature both an Apple-designed modem and Wi-Fi chip.
