Intel denies TSMC allegations of trade-secret leak

Intel has denied allegations from TSMC that an executive leaked trade secrets after leaving the Taiwanese chipmaker.

TSMC filed a lawsuit against Wei-Jen Lo in Taiwan’s Intellectual Property and Commercial Court, claiming there is a high probability he disclosed or transferred confidential information to Intel after his move in October.

Intel said it has no reason to believe the allegations have merit and enforces strict rules against using or sharing third-party intellectual property.

The company said talent movement is common in the industry and confirmed Lo’s return.

Taiwan’s economy ministry said it will investigate potential violations of core technologies or the National Security Act.
