Intel CEO restructures leadership, names new CTO

Intel’s newly appointed CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, has announced changes to the company’s leadership structure.

Key chip divisions will now report directly to him to streamline the organization and foster innovation.

Sachin Katti, previously head of Intel’s networking chip division, has been promoted to chief technology officer and head of AI, succeeding Greg Lavender, who is retiring.

The data center and AI chip group, along with the personal-computer chip group, will also report directly to Tan.

Tan emphasized the need to reduce bureaucratic layers and improve decision-making, noting that organizational inefficiencies have hindered Intel’s ability to innovate.

These changes are Tan’s first major steps in reshaping Intel.
