Instagram has started implementing new safety features for users aged 13 to 18 in Singapore, including parental controls and account protections.

Teen accounts will automatically have restrictions in place, limiting messaging and certain content.

Users under 16 must get parental consent to modify these settings.

A “Sleep Mode” feature will allow users to mute notifications at night, while parents can monitor messaging, screen time, and usage periods.

This initiative follows discussions with parents, educators, and safety experts in Singapore.
