Early-stage venture capital firm Init 6 said on October 29 it invested in Netra Runtime, an Indonesian startup that builds AI inference infrastructure for enterprises.

Netra offers software that runs AI models on customers’ graphics processing units, or GPUs, and managed inference services through application programming interfaces, or APIs.

The company targets organizations that want more control over model deployment and the processing of sensitive data.

That pitch aligns with Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law, which regulates transfers of personal data overseas through requirements tied to adequate protection, safeguards, or consent.

It also comes amid regional interest in data sovereignty and locally controlled AI infrastructure in Southeast Asia.

Netra said its platform processed more than 288 billion tokens and had 1,415 registered users by October 28.
