Inflexor Ventures leads $1.6m round for Indian medtech firm
Ayati Devices, a Bengaluru-based medical technology startup developing diagnostics for diabetic foot complications and peripheral vascular disease, said on August 11 it raised 150 million rupees (US$1.58 million) in a pre-series A round led by Inflexor Ventures.
The funding will help commercialize its products, expand manufacturing, and support research and regulatory work.
The company said the round would support Angiocam, which Ayati described as a tissue perfusion imaging product, as well as hiring and expansion in India and overseas.
Ayati said this was its first institutional investment.
Founded in 2019 by Nishant Kathpal, the startup had previously received about 15 million rupees (US$158,000) in grants and awards.
Ayati said its broader portfolio covers sensation, circulation, and perfusion assessment in diabetic foot care.
It also said its technologies have regulatory clearances, including from India’s Central Drugs Standard Control Organization, the US Food and Drug Administration, and Europe’s CE mark.
The company said it has deployed more than 10,000 devices across over 30 countries.
A Mumbai community study found 66 per 10,000 people with diabetes develop diabetic foot ulcers each year, highlighting the public health burden Ayati is targeting.
