Infineon to set up semiconductor R&D hub in India

Infineon Technologies, a Germany-based semiconductor company, plans to open a global capability centre (GCC) at the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) in India.

The centre will focus on semiconductor chip design, product software, IT, and supply chain management.

Jochen Hanebeck, CEO of Infineon, highlighted the significance of the Indian market for the company’s growth.

The GCC is expected to create 400 engineering jobs and support Infineon’s global research and development (R&D) initiatives.
