Indonesia’s Danantara to invest $10b in Q4 2025
Badan Pengelola Investasi Daya Anagata Nusantara (BPI Danantara) plans to invest 165.92 trillion rupiah (US$10 billion) over the next three months, starting in October 2025, according to chief investment officer Pandu Sjahrir.
Danantara is an Indonesian state-backed investment agency set up to manage national assets and support economic transformation.
Sjahrir said 80% of the funds would be allocated domestically and the rest overseas.
The agency was established by President Prabowo Subianto with an initial allocation of US$20 billion for 20 strategic projects.
Danantara has previously invested in projects such as a hajj village in Saudi Arabia, upstream energy ventures with Pertamina, and waste-to-energy power plants in Indonesia.
The agency is also working to boost liquidity in the Jakarta stock market, where daily trading averages about US$1 billion, lower than India’s US$10 billion.
Danantara’s investment focus for the next two years includes energy security, food security, renewable energy, financial services, healthcare, real estate, and digital infrastructure.
