Indonesian web3 platform Hypr launches NFT-based F&B investments
Hypr, an Indonesia-based investment platform backed by Wahyoo Ventures, has launched to offer global investors profit rights in local F&B businesses.
The platform’s first portfolio company is DORÉ by LeTAO, a Japanese dessert brand known for its cheesecakes, which operates in Indonesia.
Hypr uses NFT-backed smart contracts to secure investor profit rights and distributes monthly profits, with figures reportedly verified by point-of-sale data.
Hypr’s operations are regulated by Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK), and the company holds ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certifications.
Hypr’s token, $HYPR, launched on August 19 and is used for investment access, rewards, and governance, allowing holders to vote on future listings.

🧠 Food for thought
1️⃣ Web3 platforms democratize access to Indonesia’s established F&B investment market
Indonesia’s food and beverage sector has long attracted substantial institutional investment, but typically required significant capital commitments that excluded smaller investors.
Traditional F&B investments in Indonesia have involved massive deals like General Atlantic’s Rp1.08 trillion convertible bond investment in PT MAP Boga Adiperkasa, which operates over 300 Starbucks, Pizza Express, and Krispy Kreme stores2.
Similarly, F&B Asia secured exclusive licenses for major brands like Burger King and Domino’s Pizza across Indonesia and India, demonstrating the sector’s appeal to large-scale investors3.
Existing Indonesian investment platforms like ANGIN have connected over 130 investors with early-stage opportunities, but require annual fees of IDR 5 million and focus primarily on high-net-worth individuals and institutions4.
Hypr’s model represents a shift toward retail accessibility in a market where Indonesia’s institutional and retail F&B sector surpassed $51.5 billion in 20241.
The platform’s focus on profit-sharing rights secured by smart contracts offers a middle ground between traditional venture capital’s high minimums and the speculative nature of many crypto investments.
2️⃣ Indonesia’s regulatory sandbox enables blockchain-backed business investments
Indonesia’s recent regulatory developments have created favorable conditions for platforms like Hypr that bridge traditional business investments with Web3 technology.
