Indonesian job platform Pintarnya secures $14m credit facility

Pintarnya, an Indonesia-based employment and financial services platform, has secured a US$14 million credit facility from January Capital’s Growth Credit Fund.

This new facility brings Pintarnya’s total series A financing to over US$30 million, following a US$16.7 million round led by Square Peg in August 2025.

Founded in 2022, Pintarnya connects Indonesian job seekers with employers and partners with lenders to provide access to financial services, including asset-backed loans.

The company said it serves more than 10 million users and 40,000 employers, with over 200,000 users having accessed credit through its platform.

Pintarnya plans to use the funding to expand its financial services network and enhance its platform across Indonesia.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Pintarnya’s asset-backed lending reduces default risk; NPL metrics not disclosed in cited sources

  • Pintarnya works with asset-backed lenders that offer secured loans using collateral like gold, electronics, or vehicles 1. They can sell collateral if a borrower defaults, which lowers risk.
  • More than 200,000 users have tapped credit through Pintarnya’s network 2, yet the sources do not share Non-Performing Loan (NPL) rates or default data. They also do not say whether Pintarnya holds a fintech lending license from Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK), Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority, or carries credit risk on its balance sheet.
  • A US$14 million credit facility from January Capital’s Growth Credit Fund will help scale its financial services platform and network across Indonesia. The cited sources provide no portfolio performance data, so judging sustainability at scale is hard.

Fintech vendors can plug into Pintarnya’s growing network

  • As lending expands into micro-savings and investments 1, Pintarnya will need tools for Know Your Customer (KYC) checks and fraud detection. It will also need systems for repayment collections and payment processing.
  • Blue-collar workers with limited formal documents create edge cases that specialized tools can handle. Options include alternative credit scoring using employment data or mobile identity checks for people without traditional bank ties.
  • Technology companies plus Application Programming Interface (API) providers can contact Pintarnya’s product or partnership teams about integrations. The company plans to expand nationwide with over US$30 million in recent financing.
