Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital will open the Garuda Spark Innovation Hub in Medan, North Sumatra, later this year.

The hub will serve as a space for startups to collaborate, with a focus on technology development in agriculture, food technology, and commerce.

The ministry said the hub’s programs will include digital literacy and skills training for young people, with support from partners such as Microsoft and the United Arab Emirates.

This approach differs from the Garuda Park in Bandung, which centers on AI, and the Jakarta hub, which emphasizes ecommerce.

The Medan facility will offer meeting rooms, classrooms, high-speed internet, and access to mentors, investors, and tech communities.
