Indonesia set for $88b tokenization boom by 2030: report

A new research report titled “Project Wira” forecasts significant growth in Indonesia’s tokenized asset sector.

Published by BRI Ventures, Saison Capital, D3 Labs, and Tiger Research, the report estimates that demand could reach US$88 billion by 2030.

Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) has backed this projection, identifying the country’s commodities market as a promising area for tokenization.

Currently, tokenized commodities predominantly involve the gold sector. However, the report suggests that Indonesia’s natural resources could leverage tokenization to improve capital-raising processes and enhance global competitiveness.

Tokenization in Indonesia is driven by a young population, an expanding middle class, and robust fintech and digital payment sectors.

Over 18 million Indonesians hold digital assets, surpassing the number of stock investors, indicating a keen interest in blockchain-based financial products.
