Indonesia launches Temasek-like investment arm with $20b fund
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara) investment management body on Feb. 24 at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.
The launch included the signing of key regulations to establish and govern the entity.
During the event, President Prabowo signed Law No. 1 of 2025, which amends the existing law on state-owned enterprises.
He also signed Government Regulation No. 10 of 2025 concerning Danantara’s organizational framework.
Additionally, he issued Presidential Decree No. 30 of 2025, which formalized the appointment of the body’s Supervisory Board and Executive Body.
Danantara’s initial funding is projected at 326 trillion rupiah (US$20 billion).
The body plans to undertake 15 to 20 large-scale projects to promote national economic growth. It is expected to manage assets exceeding 14,710 trillion rupiah (US$900 billion).
According to the president, Danantara will emphasize sustainable and high-impact investments in sectors such as renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, downstream industries, and food production.
This initiative supports Indonesia’s goal of achieving 8% GDP growth in the coming years.
