India’s UPI transactions reach 117.6 billion in 2023, a 58% YoY increase

India’s Unified Payments Interface processed 117.6 billion transactions in 2023, according to data from the National Payments Corporation of India. This represents an over 58% growth compared to the previous year.

The total value of the transactions processed via the payments system last year was around US$2.2 trillion.
