India’s TCS plans $7.4b AI data center campus

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s largest software exporter, said in an exchange filing on September 5 that its HyperVault initiative and partners have committed 700 billion rupees (US$7.4 billion) to build an AI data center campus in Hyderabad, Telangana.

TCS said it has secured 264 acres for the site. The campus is planned to have up to one gigawatt of capacity, which the company said would make it one of India’s largest AI infrastructure campuses.

In public materials, HyperVault is described as a TCS-branded initiative rather than a separately identified subsidiary or joint venture.

The campus is intended to support AI companies and hyperscalers with high-density, liquid-cooled computing infrastructure.

TCS said the investment would cover building and operating the site.
