India’s TCS deepens AI network partnership with ABB
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an India-based IT services and consulting firm, said on July 14 that it had expanded its work with ABB, a Switzerland-based electrification and automation company.
The multimillion-dollar, multiyear deal will run ABB’s global network operations through an AI-driven network-as-a-service model.
The project is part of ABB’s Future Network Model, which aims to replace fragmented network environments with a standardized, centrally managed, secure, and scalable architecture.
The setup will cover service integration and management, a global network operations center, and security capabilities.
It will also include modernized local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) systems.
TCS said the companies had worked together for 20 years on projects including consolidating ABB’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems onto a unified SAP platform, as well as cloud transformation and adoption.
TCS said the AI-enabled setup was intended to improve user experience, operational efficiency, security, and compliance, and support ABB’s digital operations.
