India’s Paytm narrows Q3 losses to $24m
One 97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm, reported a net loss of 208.3 crore rupees (around US$24 million) for the third quarter of FY25, reflefting an improvement from the 219.8 crore rupees (around US$25.4 million) loss recorded in the same quarter last year.
The company’s consolidated revenue from operations decreased by 36% year-on-year to 1,827.8 crore rupees (around US$212 million) but rose 10% sequentially.
Paytm’s Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) reached 5 lakh crore rupees (around US$58 billion), representing a 13% increase quarter-on-quarter.
In the December quarter, the payment services revenue rose 8% to 1,059 crore rupees (around US$122.8 million), while financial services revenue increased by 34% to 502 crore rupees (around US$58.3 million).
The net payment margin grew 5% quarter-on-quarter to 489 crore rupees (around US$56.7 million), supported by higher subscription revenues.
Average Monthly Transacting Users (MTUs) in Q3FY25 were 7.0 crore rupees (around US$812,000), slightly lower than the 7.1 crore rupees (around US$826,000) reported in Q2FY25.
