India’s W Health Ventures closes $74.1m fund II
W Health Ventures, a Mumbai-based healthcare venture firm, said on September 8 that it had reached the final close of its second fund at 7 billion rupees (US$74.1 million).
The fund exceeded its 6.3 billion rupees (US$66.7 million) target and will be used to build healthcare companies in India and across the US-India corridor.
The firm said the close followed an initial close announced in February 2026.
Fund II will focus on single-specialty care platforms in India and AI-enabled business-to-business (B2B) healthcare services for global companies.
It aims to build eight to 10 companies over the next four years.
W Health Ventures said Fund I invested in more than 12 startups.
It added that Fund II’s first two companies are Everhope Oncology and Everbright Health, and that its portfolio companies have reached 25 million patients.
The single-specialty focus aligns with an area of Indian healthcare that has evolved into a distinct market segment.
Its AI focus also comes as Indian policy discussions on healthcare AI address ethics, patient safety, data privacy, and accountability.
