India’s HCLTech to invest $366m in AI data centers
HCLTech, an India-based IT services company, said on July 13 it would invest up to 35 billion rupees (US$366 million) to set up AI data centers through a new subsidiary and step-down subsidiaries, with the potential to scale to 50 MW of capacity.
The company said the investment is part of its plan to enter the full-stack AI market.
The new units will support AI data centers alongside HCLTech’s existing capabilities in data center design, DevOps, AI cloud operations, software, and managed services.
It did not disclose partners, locations, or rollout timelines.
Chief executive C Vijayakumar said the move was aimed at meeting rising AI demand, supply constraints, and demand for digital sovereignty.
Separately, HCLTech reported a more than 20% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for the June quarter to 46.2 billion rupees (US$484 million).
Revenue from operations rose 14% to 345.8 billion rupees (US$3.62 billion), and the company kept its FY27 revenue growth guidance of 1% to 4%.
