India’s Gensol CFO resigns as BluSmart-linked crisis deepens
Jabirmahendi M Aga, chief financial officer of Gensol Engineering, has resigned, according to a stock exchange filing.
His departure follows the recent exit of the company’s founders, Anmol Singh Jaggi and Puneet Singh Jaggi.
Aga cited challenges at Gensol, including disorganized data across departments, which hindered the company’s ability to address ongoing investigations by regulatory bodies.
He also noted that this situation affected his mental and physical health, leading to a loss of focus on his duties.
Gensol Engineering is under investigation by agencies such as SEBI, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and the Directorate of Enforcement.
These inquiries relate to a SEBI interim order accusing the Jaggi brothers of misusing funds meant for EV purchases.
The financial issues at Gensol are also linked to BluSmart, an electric ride-hailing service founded by the Jaggi brothers, which suspended operations in April due to financial troubles.

🧠 Food for thought
1️⃣ Leadership cascade failures reveal deep governance problems
Gensol’s rapid succession of high-profile executive resignations reveals a company in severe organizational distress beyond typical management changes.
The departure sequence, including three independent directors, followed by both founder-promoters (Anmol and Puneet Singh Jaggi), and now CFO Jabirmahendi Aga, demonstrates significant governance challenges where exit decisions accelerate once serious allegations emerge 1.
In his resignation letter, Aga specifically cited “disorganization of critical data across various departments” as hindering the company’s ability to respond to regulatory inquiries, suggesting systemic internal control failures beyond individual misconduct 2.
The involvement of multiple regulatory bodies simultaneously—SEBI, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and the Enforcement Directorate—indicates unusually serious concerns about Gensol’s operations that extend beyond routine compliance issues 2.
2️⃣ Government-backed green energy financing faces accountability crisis
Gensol’s alleged misappropriation of government funds highlights significant vulnerabilities in India’s green energy financing ecosystem that could have broader implications.
