India’s first Korean skincare clinic bags $355k pre-seed funding

KorinMi, a India’s first Korean skin clinic, has raised 30 million rupee (US$355,272) in a pre-seed funding round.

The round was led by angel investors Vikas Agarwal, former CEO of Kaya Skin Clinic UAE, and Vivek Kumar, CEO of Venture Garage.

Founded in 2024 by Reshbha Munjal and Jenovia Daun Jung, KorinMi combines Korean skincare technology with treatments tailored for Indian skin. The clinic uses advanced 3D skin analysis to offer personalized solutions.

After six months of running its flagship clinic in Gurugram, KorinMi has achieved operational profitability. It now operates two clinics in the Delhi-NCR region and plans to expand to 25 locations across India in the next three years.

🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ KorinMi’s timing aligns with India’s booming skincare economy

KorinMi’s entry and quick profitability come at an optimal moment in India’s rapidly expanding skincare market.

The company’s pre-seed funding arrives as the Indian skincare market is projected to grow from $8.78 billion in 2024 to $17.69 billion by 2033, representing a healthy 8.43% CAGR1.

This growth is particularly pronounced in the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) beauty sector, which is expected to surge from $4.09 billion in 2025 to $35.92 billion by 2032 at an impressive 36.4% CAGR2.

KorinMi’s rapid path to operational profitability within just six months demonstrates exceptional market timing as consumer interest in specialized skincare solutions continues to accelerate.

The broader context shows ‘skintellectual’ consumers increasingly demanding science-backed products, with 85% of Indian consumers believing beauty brands should provide scientific evidence for their claims3.

2️⃣ Korean beauty evolution in India: from products to professional services

KorinMi represents an evolution in the Korean beauty market entry strategy in India, shifting from product-focused retail to professional clinical services.

Korean beauty brands have been establishing themselves in India since at least 2017, with major players like Innisfree, Laneige, and Etude House already capturing market share through partnerships with retailers like Nykaa4.

The South Korean government has actively supported beauty industry expansion, with initiatives like the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) enabling duty-free imports to India and facilitating market access5.
