Indian VC firm Zeropearl raises $19.08m pre-seed fund
Zeropearl VC, founded by former Titan Capital partner Bipin Shah, has closed its first pre-seed fund at 159 crore rupee (US$19.08 million).
The India-based venture firm initially targeted 80 crore rupee (US$9.6 million) and capped the fund at 150 crore rupee (US$18 million) after receiving commitments of over 280 crore rupee (US$18 million).
More than half of the capital came from 31 founders, including those behind unicorns and IPO-listed or IPO-bound companies such as Aman Gupta of boAt.
Zeropearl VC has invested in 20 startups so far, with seven already publicly announced, including Gully Labs, Supply6, Cura Care, and Zanskar.
The fund aims to back 45 startups across sectors, with plans for most to raise follow-on capital within 12 to 15 months.
The firm said its investment approach selects about 0.5% of evaluated companies each year.
