Indian VC firm Aum launches $80m startup fund
Aum Ventures, an India-focused venture capital firm formed in 2022, said on June 12 that it launched its second fund, Aum Ventures – India Innovation Fund II.
The funds target size of 7.5 billion rupees (US$80 million), to invest in 25 to 30 Indian startups over five years.
The Category II alternative investment fund will focus on pre-seed and seed-stage startups.
Initial cheques of US$750,000 to US$2 million and follow-on funding. Aum said it expected a first close in July 2026.
Founded by Chetan Mehta, Aum formally launched its first venture fund through Abu Dhabi Global Market in November 2022 after backing 11 startups.
Aum has not publicly disclosed the size of its first fund, but said it had deployed about US$30 million across 24 early-stage startups.
Its earlier investments include Skyroot Aerospace, semiconductor startup Azimuth AI, Cosmoserve Space, and AI-based defense tech firm Sharang Shakti.
