Indian VC firm Activate buys strategic stake in ElevenLabs

Mumbai-based venture capital firm Activate bought an undisclosed strategic stake in New York-based voice AI startup ElevenLabs through a separate vehicle backed by its limited partners.

The deal is Activate’s first investment in a global growth-stage AI company since it launched its US$75 million fund in 2025.

The firm will help ElevenLabs expand enterprise partnerships in India and provide some local startups with access to its voice tools.

ElevenLabs raised US$500 million in February from Sequoia Capital, Iconiq Capital, and Andreessen Horowitz.

The company said India is its second-largest market by revenue and annual recurring revenue passed US$500 million in the first four months of 2026.
