🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ Strategic partnerships emerge as critical expansion vehicles in Middle East tech

Zoho’s partnership with areeba continues a deliberate regional expansion strategy that began years earlier with similar alliances across the Middle East.

In 2019, Zoho partnered with AlJammaz Cloud as a distributor for the Middle East region, establishing one of its first major regional distribution channels 1.

The company has systematically built a partner ecosystem including firms like Technobeans in Saudi Arabia and Abacus IT Solutions in the UAE, who provide implementation and consulting services for Zoho’s products 23.

This partnership-led approach helps overcome market entry barriers by leveraging local expertise and established customer relationships, particularly important in a region where cultural context and regulatory knowledge are critical success factors.

The strategy has proven effective for other technology providers as well, with companies like Aarialife Technologies reporting significant growth after partnering with Zoho, securing 112 clients across 12 countries within just one year 4.

2️⃣ Middle East’s digital transformation faces significant skills and infrastructure gaps

Despite ambitious digital initiatives across the region, Middle Eastern businesses face substantial implementation challenges that the Zoho-areeba partnership aims to address.

Over 60% of manufacturers in the region lack basic data management systems, and approximately 70% of workers do not possess the necessary digital skills for Industry 4.0 technologies 5.
