🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ Addressing the critical global teacher shortage with certification and recognition

CENTA’s fundraise comes at a time when the world faces an acute teacher shortage, with UNESCO reporting a global need for 44 million new teachers by 2030 to meet educational goals 1.

This shortage is exacerbated by rising attrition rates, with primary teacher turnover nearly doubling from 4.62% in 2015 to 9.06% in 2022 according to global education data 1.

Teacher burnout is a significant factor, with 39% of educators reporting frequent burnout and 77% experiencing job-related stress 2.

CENTA’s certification model addresses a key retention factor by providing professional recognition and standards, which is crucial when 42% of teachers report not feeling respected by the public 3.

The company’s global approach is well-positioned to address regional variations in teacher shortages, which are particularly severe in Sub-Saharan Africa and in specialized fields like special education and STEM 4.

2️⃣ Teacher-as-a-service emerges as solution to educational staffing challenges

CENTA’s teacher-as-a-service platform directly addresses a critical pain point for schools, as 86% of public schools report difficulties hiring qualified educators according to recent statistics 2.

The staffing crisis extends to substitute teachers as well, with 60% of schools struggling to find temporary educators, creating significant disruptions to learning continuity 3.
