Indian startup Plum raises $20.6m series B led by Peak XV
Plum, a Bengaluru-based corporate insurance and healthcare benefits startup, raised 1.93 billion rupees (US$20.6 million), in a series B round led by Peak XV Partners at a valuation of 11.81 billion rupees (US$125.90 million), CEO Abhishek Poddar said.
Avendus Capital acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Plum Insurance.
Plum will use the funds to expand marketing and sales, invest more in technology, including AI for claims operations, and move into preventive and primary healthcare.
Plum’s revenue mix is about 80% insurance broking and 20% healthcare, and the company expects healthcare to reach 40% to 45% in the next couple of years.
