Indian spacetech startup InspeCity nets $5.6m seed funding

Indian space technology startup InspeCity has secured US$5.6 million in a seed funding round led by investor Ashish Kacholia.

Other investors included Speciale Invest, Shastra VC, Antler India, DeVC, MGF Kavachh, and Anicut Capital.

The funding will support InspeCity’s development of satellite life-extension technology.

InspeCity specializes in propulsion, robotics, and Rendezvous, Proximity Operations, and Docking (RPOD) technologies, all of which are developed in-house.

InspeCity has received a grant of 25 crore rupees (US$3 million) from India’s Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) program.

This initiative has provided early-stage support and validation for the startup’s technology.

Satellite life extension technology addresses a fundamental economic challenge in the space industry: the limited 15-year lifespan of geosynchronous satellites, primarily caused by propellant exhaustion1.
