Indian space surveillance company Digantara is set to launch its first dedicated surveillance satellite, SCOT (Space Camera for Object Tracking), aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-12 mission.

This launch aims to enhance space safety and traffic management as well as support national security efforts.

SCOT is one of the first commercial satellites designed for Space Situational Awareness (SSA).

It will track Resident Space Objects (RSOs) more precisely and frequently than current systems.

The satellite is capable of detecting objects as small as 5 cm, which will help reduce data gaps and enhance tracking accuracy.

Digantara has launched two space weather missions not Space Surveillance. This is the first of the constellation.
