Indian solar financing firm Credit Fair secures $5m green debt
Credit Fair, a non-banking financial company (NBFC), has raised US$5 million in debt financing from Symbiotics Investments.
The funds come from a US$75 million green bond backed by British International Investment.
The India-based company plans to use the capital to expand its rooftop solar financing services for residential and Micro, Small Medium Enterprise (MSME) customers, including housing societies in tier-II and III cities.
This aligns with the bond’s mission to promote renewable energy in Asia and Africa.
Founded in 2018 by Aditya Damani and registered with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Credit Fair specializes in financing solar installations.
It has supported over 8,000 customers in adopting rooftop solar technology, contributing to a reduction of more than 4,100 tonnes of carbon emissions.
Before this round, the company had raised US$26.92 million and competes with firms like Namdev Finvest, Vivriti Capital, and Satin Creditcare Network Ltd.
