Indian services firm Urban Company jumps 69% in market debut
Urban Company, an India-based home services platform, saw its shares rise 69% in its trading debut on the National Stock Exchange of India on September 17, reaching a valuation of around US$3 billion.
The stock opened at 162.25 rupee (US$1.85), up 57.5% from its issue price of 103 rupees (US$1.2).
Urban Company’s IPO was subscribed nearly 104x, with strong demand from qualified institutional buyers.
This marks the largest IPO subscription in India for 2025 so far.
The broader Indian market was also up, with the Nifty 50 index trading 0.3% higher amid optimism over US-India trade talks.
Other major IPOs in India this year include HDB Financial, Hexaware Tech, and Ather Energy.
