Indian ecommerce AI startup raises $3.5m

BiteSpeed, an AI-based customer operation system for ecommerce brands, has raised US$3.5 million in a pre-series A funding round.

The round was led by Peak XV’s Surge, with additional investments from Whiteboard Capital and individual investors like Gaurav Munjal and Dhruv Vohra.

With the new capital, the Bengaluru-based startup plans to expand its workforce by hiring in marketing, sales, and technical departments. The company also intends to invest in R&D, specifically in generative AI.

This is part of their strategy to grow in key regions including North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

Update: (November 13, 8:05 p.m. SGT): This article was updated to clarify the headline that BiteSpeed is an ecommerce AI startup, not a SaaS startup.
