Indian restaurant tech firm Petpooja raises $16.5m

Petpooja, a restaurant management software startup based in Ahmedabad, has raised 137 crore rupees (US$16.4 million) in a funding round led by Dharana Capital.

The round included both primary and secondary capital, with participation from investors such as Ashish Gupta of Helion Ventures and several Urban Company founders and executives.

Petpooja plans to use the new funding for product development, AI automation, and customer support.

The startup, founded in 2011 by Parthiv and Apurv Patel, serves over 100,000 restaurants across India, the Middle East, the US, and Africa.

Petpooja processes more than 7 million orders daily in 140 cities.

This latest funding follows a previous series B round partially closed in 2021 and 2023, with the company last valued at US$73.7 million in November 2023.
