Indian research agency opens major chip prototyping hub

India’s Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) has launched its largest pre-silicon validation facility in Bengaluru, aimed at supporting India’s semiconductor ecosystem.

Named PRITVI-ACE, the facility allows large-scale, near-real-speed prototyping and validation of complex chip designs before fabrication.

It offers end-to-end validation, including system-level testing, firmware, and protocol compliance, which could improve first-silicon success rates.

The facility supports India’s broader goal to shift from a services-driven to a product-driven semiconductor industry.
