Indian recruitment platform WorkIndia secures $10.8m series B
WorkIndia, a Mumbai-based recruitment platform for blue- and grey-collar workers, has raised 97 crore rupee (US$10.77 million) in a series B funding round led by Aavishkaar Capital, with participation from existing investor BEENEXT Capital.
Aavishkaar Capital contributed 75 crore rupee (US$8.33 million), while BEENEXT added 22 crore rupee (US$2.44 million).
The company plans to use the funds to enhance its technology, improve job matching, and expand into new regions in India.
WorkIndia connects job seekers in sectors like delivery, retail, telecalling, field sales, and warehouse operations with employers across the country.
Founded in 2015, WorkIndia previously raised US$12 million in a pre-series B round in January 2023 from investors including SBI Holdings and Yamauchi No.10 Family Office.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Vendors can sell beyond WorkIndia’s network
- WorkIndia’s push signals rising demand for background checks, vernacular communication tools (local-language messaging and support) plus Applicant Tracking System (ATS) integrations. Vendors should look beyond this app to Digital Labour Chowk (a construction worker hiring marketplace; it advertises “instant hiring at ₹5” 2), Apna (community plus jobs model) and Quikr Jobs (classifieds-based listings).
- Maintain a live database of major platforms. WorkIndia serves 32 million users with multi-language support 3, and rivals cover construction, retail, and delivery. Business-to-business (B2B) vendors can pitch AI-driven skill matching, fraud detection, or worker retention analytics across multiple hiring networks.
