Indian nutrition startup TruNativ bags $30m from OrbiMed

Mumbai-based TruNativ, a nutrition startup, said on June 17 that it raised about US$30 million in a series B round led by healthcare investment firm OrbiMed.

TruNativ said it will use the proceeds to expand distribution in India. The company also plans to grow its ingredients business serving other brands.

The round included primary investment and secondary share sales by early investors. OrbiMed executives Dr. Sunny Sharma and Sumona Chakraborty will join TruNativ’s board.

Founded in 2019, TruNativ said it began with a sugar-replacement product and later expanded into other nutrition categories.

The fundraise comes as India’s nutraceuticals market is projected to grow 10.3% annually from 2026 to 2033, with functional foods and beverages accounting for the largest share in 2025.
