Indian medtech HRS Navigation raises $5m to expand globally
HRS Navigation, an Indian medtech company based in Bengaluru, has raised US$5 million in a pre-series A round from investors including GVFL, Physis Capital, Sathguru Catalysers, India EXIM Bank, and KITVEN.
The company will use the funds to boost product development, expand internationally, and scale manufacturing.
HRS Navigation was founded by Arpit Paliwal and Shweta Paliwal, and develops surgical navigation systems to assist with cranial, spine, and ENT procedures.
Its easyNav platform, which integrates with existing hospital equipment, has been used in over 20,000 surgeries, according to the company.
Surgical navigation technology provides real-time guidance to surgeons during operations to improve accuracy.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Southeast Asia distributors can move before HRS’s Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) buildout
- Distributors focused on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) could partner with HRS on surgical navigation, since high-priced incumbents leave room for lower-cost options.
- Some Southeast Asian health systems buy through tenders, a formal bidding process, and Vietnam requires them for many higher-value devices 3. That setup favors value offers.
- Local service integrators, which install and maintain medical gear, could bundle HRS’s consumable-less platform 1 with setup, surgeon training, or maintenance. That package covers the adoption cycle.
- The window sits open while HRS raises money for expansion abroad. Early partners could lock in territorial rights before direct sales teams grow.
