Indian hair extension startup raises $5m series A
Hair Originals, a D2C brand for hair extensions and wigs, has raised 43.5 crore rupees (US$5 million) in a series A round co-led by Anicut growth fund and 12 flags consumer holdings, with participation from Lenskart CEO, Peyush Bansal.
The brand plans to expand its “try-at-home” service to 40 cities and open 25–30 experience centers in the next year.
Some funds will also go toward R&D to enhance product quality.
Founded in 2019 by Jitendra Sharma and Piyush Wadhwani, Hair Originals sells wigs and extensions made from ethically sourced human hair.
The startup has partnered with over 1,400 salons in India and North America.
