Indian grocery platform Elixiir Foods raises $9m seed funding
Elixiir Foods, a grocery platform based in India, has raised US$9 million in seed funding led by 3one4 Capital and Incubate Fund Asia.
The funding will support launching the platform, expanding supply chains, and building technology infrastructure for city-based rollouts.
The company aims to develop an omni-channel, technology-driven platform focusing on fresh, organic, and gourmet foods across categories such as produce, dairy, meat, seafood, and everyday essentials.
Founded by Arvind Mediratta and Ambuj Narayan, the platform plans to leverage farm-led sourcing and a wholesale supply network to serve dense urban markets.
The founders bring extensive experience in FMCG and retail from companies like Walmart, P&G, and Titan.
The company targets a market where over 150 million urban consumers are shifting toward higher-quality, healthier foods as India’s GDP per capita exceeds US$2,500.
The total addressable market is estimated to exceed US$100 billion.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Growth will bring heavy operational complexity
- Elixiir is moving into grocery, a fast-moving space that ADRM Software (a retail technology company) ties to important retail innovations 1.
- ADRM Software calls the sector dynamic and puts new product launches at about 15,000 a year, which keeps inventory in constant motion 1.
- Large stores stock an average of 42,200 items, so the system has to handle a wide mix from day one 1.
- That puts pressure on data and operations, alongside the planned farm-led sourcing and wholesale supply network.
The platform could matter beyond grocery sales
- Elixiirs tech-led, omni-channel plan fits with ADRM Softwares view of grocery as a driver of retail innovation 1.
- Its omni-channel build for dense urban markets in India could offer an approach that also helps logistics in other sectors.
- The same technology, if it supports both the wholesale network and the consumer retail platform, may become an asset next to the food business.
- Claims that the infrastructure could be licensed to other retailers or open up a much larger overall market stay speculative, since the provided material does not back them.
