Indian food tech startup Pluckk nets $10.8m led by Euro Gulf

Mumbai-based fresh food and packaged food startup Pluckk raised 1 billion rupees (US$10.8 million) in a series A1 round led by existing investor Euro Gulf Investment.

The funds will be used to expand offline retail, enter international markets, and improve its tech stack as it targets EBITDA profitability within a year.

The round brings Pluckk’s total funding to US$26 million, and the company said it now operates in more than 50 cities and is integrated with six quick commerce platforms.

Pluckk said it had an annualized revenue run rate of more than 1 billion rupees (US$10.8 million) in FY25 and served around 10 million households in FY26.

Founded in 2021 as a fruits and vegetables platform, Pluckk now sells juices, frozen foods, snacks, and meal kits.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Why a tech stack matters for a fresh and packaged food company

  • For Pluckk, spending on a tech stack helps handle perishables such as fruits, vegetables, juices, and frozen foods, where standard forecasting misses demand swings 1.
  • Models built only on past sales struggle when shoppers change habits or shocks hit, including the COVID-19 pandemic 2.
  • AI forecasting tools can pull from larger datasets like weather, social media activity, and local events to sharpen demand estimates 2.
  • Better forecasts help plan inventory for items with a short shelf life.
  • Restaurant chain Buffalo Grill used an AI forecasting tool and cut spoilage of perishables by 15% after improving sales estimates 3.

Pluckk’s funding signals a post-pandemic supply chain shift

  • The investment fits a wider move from reactive supply chains to predictive planning, sped up by post-pandemic volatility 2.
  • More firms treat AI demand forecasting as part of resilience, not only a cost play 2.
  • That shift pushes farms, distributors, and logistics providers to use data-led methods for quick commerce, which refers to very fast delivery services 2. It also raises expectations for omnichannel retail, which means selling across online and offline channels 2.
  • Teams aim for systems that adapt in real time to disruptions or sudden market shifts, which can cut waste and raise customer satisfaction 1, 4.
