Indian flying taxi startup secures $14m series B
The ePlane Company, an Indian flying taxi startup established in 2019, secured US$14 million in a Series B funding round led by Speciale Invest and Antares Ventures.
The company, aiming for a full-scale launch by 2026, is developing an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicle called the e200x.
This aircraft features a compact wingspan and can make up to 60 short trips daily on a single charge.
India’s PM Narendra Modi expressed government support for this mode of transport in September. Indian aviation authorities are working on vertiport regulations.
