Indian flying taxi startup secures $10m series A1

Sarla Aviation, an Indian aviation startup has raised 86.5 crore rupees (around US$10 million) in a series A1 funding round led by Accel.

The round included participation from notable angel investors such as Flipkart cofounder Binny Bansal, Zerodha cofounder Nikhil Kamath, and Swiggy cofounder Sriharsha Majety.

The startup plans to use the funds to scale operations, establish a research and development center, expand its workforce, and launch a flying taxi prototype.

Sarla Aviation will unveil its prototype at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in Delhi NCR on January 17.

Founded in October 2023, Sarla Aviation aims to introduce its first commercial flying taxi service by 2028, with goal to provide a sustainable and quieter option compared to traditional helicopter taxis.
