Indian fintech startup Jar sees ninefold rise in operating revenue
Jar, a fintech startup based in India, reported a ninefold rise in operating revenue to 208 crore rupee (US$30.3 million) for FY25, up from 23 crore rupee (US$3.4 million) the previous year.
Total revenue reached 2,450 crore rupee (US$357.3 million), up from 49 crore rupee (US$7.1 million) in FY24.
The company shifted from being a distributor to operating its own integrated gold platform, enabling it to book the full value of gold sales as revenue.
Jar narrowed its net loss, excluding ESOP costs, to 35.2 crore rupee (US$5.1 million) from 104 crore rupee (US$15.2 million) a year earlier.
Founded in 2021, Jar provides micro-savings via UPI autopay and has expanded into jewellery and insurance.
The platform claims over 35 million registered users.
Investors include Tiger Global, Arkam Ventures, WEH Ventures, and Tribe Capital.
