Indian EV motorcycle maker Ultraviolette raises $85m

Ultraviolette, an India-based electric two-wheeler maker focused on motorcycles, has raised US$85 million in a funding round led by Yali Capital and TDK Ventures.

Walden International chairman and Ultraviolette adviser Lip-Bu Tan also joined the round, along with existing investors.

The company said it will use the funds to expand manufacturing, develop its next-generation electric vehicle platforms.

The funding will also support production of its current models, the F77 and X-47, as well as its upcoming products, Tesseract and Shockwave.

Ultraviolette said it plans to enter the US in 2027 and expand in Latin America and Southeast Asia.
