Reliance Power has won a bid from state-owned SJVN to develop a 350-megawatt solar power plant with battery storage.

The project, awarded to subsidiary Reliance NU Energies, includes a 700-megawatt-hour battery system and will sell electricity at 3.33 rupees (US$4 cents)/kWh for 25 years.

Reliance is awaiting a formal letter of award from SJVN, which manages renewable energy auctions in India.

This is the company’s second solar-battery project announced in May 2025, following a 25-year agreement with SECI.

A previous SECI tender ban on Reliance was lifted after court intervention.
