Indian edtech firm raises $41.4m in first qualified share placement

Veranda Learning, an education company, has raised 357.42 crore rupees (US$41.4 million) through its first Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP).

The funds were generated by issuing 1,58,71,173 equity shares at a face value of 10 rupees (US$0.12) each.

The QIP attracted participation from various institutional investors, including Authum Investment, Trust Mutual Fund, Resonance Opportunities Fund, Necta Bloom VCC, and Saint Capital Fund.

Systematix Corporate Services acted as the sole book-running lead manager for the offering.

Proceeds from the QIP will be used to reduce debt and fund growth initiatives across Veranda’s education segments.

Founded in 2018 by the Kalpathi AGS Group, Veranda Learning operates in several education sectors, including schools, test preparation, and software upskilling.
