Indian deeptech startup Probus raises $5m series A1

Probus Smart Things, an Indian deeptech startup, has raised US$5 million in series A1 funding round, led by Unicorn India Ventures.

The funding, which includes both equity and debt financing, brings Probus’ total funding to over US$8 million.

The company plans to use the funds to expand its communication technology for smart grids and renewable energy applications, while also integrating AI into its networking technologies.

Probus offers hardware and software solutions for utility providers to improve energy management, grid analytics, and automation.

Its smart metering solutions, using both cellular and bluetooth technologies, are already in use across several Indian states.

Since its last funding round in 2023, Probus has seen significant growth, including a tenfold revenue increase, a tripled workforce, and new patents.

Key partners include Adani Power, Tata Power, and Torrent Power.
