Indian cybersecurity firm raises $2.7m, targets US market

Astra Security, a cybersecurity startup based in Bengaluru, has raised US$2.7 million in a funding round led by Emergent Ventures, with participation from Neon Fund, Blume Ventures, and PointOne Capital.

The funds will be used to enhance product offerings, expanding operations in the US, and develope AI-driven technology.

Founded in 2018 by Shikhil Sharma and Ananda Krishna, Astra specializes in pentesting solutions to help organizations identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

The company’s platform tests web applications, APIs, and network security using AI to simulate cyberattacks and provide remediation recommendations.

Astra plans to increase investment in AI-driven solutions for security detection tools and expand into cloud security in the next year.

Currently, 45% of its client are based in the US, with Indian clients including Mamaearth, Dream 11, and Muthoot Finance.
