Indian crypto exchange CoinSwitch launches anti-fraud drive
CoinSwitch, an India-based crypto trading platform, launched SafeSwitch on October 26 to raise awareness about cyber fraud through a scam quiz, a website checker, and guidance on reporting cases.
The campaign, timed with National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, promotes a “Stop. Check. Verify.” approach for suspicious messages, links, and payment requests.
CoinSwitch said the initiative includes a 10-question quiz, information on the national 1930 helpline, and a website checker meant as an extra precaution rather than a guarantee that a website is safe.
Separate official guidance says timely complaints can help eligible funds be frozen in beneficiary accounts, although the reviewed materials did not include public data on outcomes.
CoinSwitch said data from the Ministry of Home Affairs showed 2.4 million financial cyber fraud complaints in 2025, with reported losses of 225 billion rupees (US$2.36 billion).
